1. Probenecid plus Penicillins interaction is there. Probenecid inhibits the secretion of penicillins at kidneys by competing for active tubular secretion via the organic acid transporter and, thus can increase blood levels of penicillins.

2. The penicillins are excreted into breast milk.


3. Pseudomembranous colitis from Clostridium difficile and other organisms can occur with penicillin use.


4. Adverse effects with penicillin use are h
ypersensitivity, nephritis (esp. with Methicillin), blood disorders (decreased coagulation, cytopenias), neurotoxicity (seizures) due to GABA inhibition and diarrhea.


5. The early pregnancy uterus is sensitive to the oxytocic, Prostaglandin F2α.

10. Cephamycins  is a naturally occurring family of beta-lactam cephalosporin-type antibiotics having a 7-methoxy group and possessing marked resistance to the action of beta-lactamases from gram-positive and gram-negative organisms.
